Ann Kinnear and Lizzy Ballard in Philadelphia

All of the Ann Kinnear Suspense Novels and Lizzy Ballard Thrillers, and most of the Ann Kinnear Suspense Shorts, have at least some scenes set in or near my home base: Chester County, Pennsylvania, right outside Philadelphia. However, these are set almost exclusively in that area, or in the larger Philly metro area.
In THE SENSE OF DEATH (Ann Kinnear Book 1), you'll visit an elegant townhouse just off Rittenhouse Square. In THE FALCON AND THE OWL (Ann Kinnear Book 3), the action is centered at Avondale Airport in Chester County (a fictionalized version of Toughkenamon's New Garden Flying Field). In the Suspense Short ALL DEATHS ENDURE, the setting is a dilapidated mansion on Philadelphia's Main Line.
Book 1 of the Lizzy Ballard Thriller Trilogy, ROCK PAPER SCISSORS, takes us to a series of settings along the Main Line, includes a chase through Philadelphia's beautiful 30th Street Station, and moves on to an escape to Lancaster County's Amish country.

Ann Kinnear in Maine

Maine + suspense is like port + chocolate--the combination makes both even more delicious! Mount Desert Island, Maine, home of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, is one of my favorite places, and I've set several Ann Kinnear stories in that beautiful location.

In THE SENSE OF RECKONING (Ann Kinnear Book 2), you'll visit the twisting roads and treacherous coves of MDI, with a backstory involving the devastating Fire of '47 that blazed across the island and threatened Bar Harbor.
In CLOSE THESE EYES and WRITE IN WATER (Ann Kinnear Suspense Shorts), the backdrops are the icy docks of Southwest Harbor and an isolated island in Blue Hill Bay. So curl up with your port and chocolate and get ready to enjoy a shiver or two!

Lizzy Ballard in Arizona

Even a continent away is not far enough to hide Lizzy Ballard from her enemies.
In SNAKES AND LADDERS (Lizzy Ballard Book 2), when Lizzy Ballard's situation in Pennsylvania gets too hot to handle, she and her allies retreat to Sedona, Arizona ... but the Red Rock Country hides dangers they don't expect.
In THE IRON RING (Book 3), Lizzy makes a cross-country trip from Pennsylvania to Arizona to fulfill a promise to a friend.
