Tips for Writing Reviews
Want to support your favorite authors? Post a review!
Hate to write reviews? (I do.) : ) Try AI!
Prompt the AI with the name of the book and the author, and list the things you liked most about it: maybe ”great characters” or “thrilling plot” or “fantastic descriptions” for fiction … maybe “clear explanations” or “fresh perspective” or “inspirational” for non-fiction. Check out other favorable reviews for ideas. Specify a target word count--75 seems to work well. Then let the AI do its stuff.
If its output is over-the-top (ChatGPT in particular seems to get carried away), tell it to calm down a bit (or to amp it up if you really loved the book). Do a little tidying up where the output doesn’t quite match what you intended, and voila--a review you can post on the online retailers or share on your social media feeds!
