Just returned from a rejuvenating five days on Mt. Desert Island, Maine, the setting for Book 2. The Sense of Reckoning involves the MDI Fire of 1947 and I spent two enjoyable mornings at the Mt. Desert Island Historical Society and the National Park Service Research Center looking through old photos and documents--including an extremely useful hand-drawn map showing the progress of the fire day-by-day, information that was difficult to find in a published work. (Let's hear it for "indy publishing," research-style!) Also got to discuss with Tim Stanley of The Claremont Hotel where one might hide a body--I love writing suspense thrillers!
